In 2019, Soly expanded from the Netherlands to South Africa, setting up shop in the heart of Cape Town. We’re here to help businesses and consumers switch to renewable energy, tapping into some of the world’s highest solar irradiation levels. One mission

In 2013, brothers Patrick and Milan van der Meulen founded Soly with one mission: to make solar energy accessible to everyone.

Captivated by the immense potential of solar energy, the founders saw it as an affordable, decentralised, and clean energy source. At that time, the efficiency and feasibility of solar panels were uncertain, and high investment costs deterred companies and homeowners alike. Soly addressed this challenge by becoming the first solar provider in the Netherlands to offer a solar lease solution. Today, Soly plays a crucial role in South Africa’s renewable energy transition.
